Just found the style of my writing pedantic. Perhaps I've read too many novels from the 18th and 19th century. Have I forgotten or rather never known the vivacious spoken language of modern English? It's not 'utterly impossible' now that I speak no more than a few words every day, and all of them my mother tongue. If some native speakers of English talk with me now, they would probably have an eerie feeling that they are meeting some relative of Jane Austen. 

THAT would be quite a compliment to me, though.
