I'm not a typically driven person. Sensuous luxury and comfort that many people translate into a certain level of life quality, is not that pleasurable anyway. Besides, my idea of fulfillment does not fit into, not to say going against, the universally recognized mode of success.

That's why you rarely see me strive for excellence. Yes I do win praise and admiration now and then for some 'excellent' job done, but it is more often the aptitude and strong intuition I was born with that have helped.

But I do have wishes, if not goals. Over the years I've always wished my sis would find a nice guy and get happily married; I've always wished I could one day work in a renowned publishing firm. Both are very strong wishes. Not three months ago they were apparently nothing but crushed dreams to me. But now both are about to come true.

Much has been said about the bright side and the dark side of life. But what would we say about the amazing side of life, these lovely ironic twists of fate? They really strike a cord with my odd temperament.

I'll keep my fingers crossed.
