    Thank-you Letter

Today is Tuesday, my 26th birthday. Last Tuesday I was still not sure whether to celebrate this birthday, how and with whom. The past few days prove to be one of the most eventful weeks of some of the most eventful months of my personal life. These experiences made me cast off the coat of cynical ignorance and discover the value of a curious, open mind. So unlike my other uneventful birthdays today is a day worth celebrating in a special way. I celebrate it with this thank-you letter to my family and friends.

    Dear mom and Tina,
Thank you for making a great dinner for me.
Thank you for your love and care.

    Dear friends,
Thank you for believing in me and constantly reassuring me that my path "will be filled with beauty and bliss all the way".
Thank you for calling when you knew that I might be upset.
Thank you for being a good listener.
Thank you for offering your objective opinions that woke me up to the unwelcome truth.
Thank you for sharing your private feelings to make me feel that I was not alone.
Thank you for that miffed, sympathetic look. You never know how it warmed my heart.
Thank you for remembering my birthday and sending me warm greetings and gifts. You make me feel so special.
Thank you for taking time to read my blog.
Thank you all my friends. You helped me grow.

    Yours,
    Xinxin

    C'est la vie: la transformation

Sometimes you feel that it's just too good to be true. Odds are, it is not true.

    _The Beauty of Illusion_

    Once the illusion dissolves and
    your fancied idol falls
    to pieces

    Do not feel abandoned
    or betrayed
    But gain a new perspective
    instead

Get back on the old route
where you have been led astray
You find your old self gone
    and you have grown
    before the start of
    a new lonely day

    This is the reward and
    sweetness of illusion
    The manacles of prejudice
    have all been cast away
